Cabin Fever Revisted

Begging to go out for the 17th time this morning

I thought that when I left classroom teaching, I wouldn't have to deal with the overwhelming exasperation teachers feel when the kids have been indoors too long.  I was wrong--the cats have been 10x naughtier than my students ever were and it's only the first week of winter.  At this point I'd be happy to rent them out to anyone who'd take them.  They can be highly entertaining and the cost would be dirt cheap!

The cats would probably be happy with the arrangement--not only would they get a change of scenery and a break from being yelled at, they might get stepped on less.  Throughout the day, my big feet constantly manage to trip over felines.  Oh course if you ask them, it's my fault for not seeing them stop right in front of me as I carry an overloaded laundry basket up the basement stairs or a pot of boiling pasta water from stove to sink.

At least when teaching, the kids went to their own homes at night and there was a snow day or two to break up the winter.   The weather is fairly decent this week.  Maybe I could talk the kitties into going out to play in the snow for a while.  It'd probably do us all good.
